Sleep Expert Insight
"In my work as a child sleep specialist, one thing I see time and time again is that sleep is never one size fits all. While traditional cot setups work well for some families, they simply don’t suit every child or home environment, and for many families, the expected “cot until three” pathway simply doesn’t apply.
The ROOMIX Transition Toddler Bed offers a thoughtfully designed, flexible alternative for families who prefer or need something different. In particular, it stands out as a strong option for children climbing out of cots, families navigating co-sleeping arrangements, or those needing a more adaptable sleep setup due to space, lifestyle or individual child needs.
Overall, this is a well-considered, flexible sleep solution that works in the real world, particularly for families who feel that the standard cot to bed pathway hasn’t worked for them."

FAQS
Can I remove the front barrier as my child grows out of needing it?
Yes, you can replace the front barrier panel with our Transition Day Bed Conversion Kit.
This allows you to remove the front barrier panel and switch it over for this conversion kit which opens up the front of your bed, day-bed style
Is there ventilation under the mattress to prevent mould?
Yes. Even though it is a floor bed, the design includes a 3cm air gap created by the side rails. This ensures air circulates freely under the slats, preventing moisture buildup and keeping the mattress fresh.
What is the weight limit? Can I co-sleep?
Absolutely. Our Transition Beds are reinforced for co-sleeping. The frame supports up to 200kg, making it safe for a parent to snuggle in for bedtime stories or comforting.
Does it meet UK Safety Standards?
Yes. The 70x140cm model adheres to BS8509 (Toddler Bed) standards for stability and anti-entrapment. Larger sizes meet BS EN 716 standards. We use cotton strapping to ensure slat spacing is permanently fixed at the safest distance.
What mattress would you recommend?
We offer several options of mattress, from our Roomix Toddler mattress to our Jay-Be foam free mattress options - all are recommended for our Transition Beds, but each option is suitable for different circumstances.
Our Roomix Toddler mattress, Depth 17cm, features Eco-Foam™ with a 5cm Reflex Foam topper
Our Jay-Be foam free mattresses are recommenced both as an eco-choice and where parents are co-sleeping. All are recommended for 2 years +
The Benchmark S1 , Depth 19cm, features a sprung core, and additional suport layers
The Benchmark S3, Depth 20cm, features an additional layer of memory foam for better adult support when co-sleeping
The Benchmark S5, Depth 22cm, features an additional pocket sprung layer, which betters moves with different weight distribution when co-sleeping
Will my bed be delivered altogether?
Your bed may be shipped in multiple boxes based on the particular design and add-ons selected. Once dispatched, you will receive all relevant tracking information with 1 tracking number sent per box.
Can I change the opening side of the Bed barrier?
We offer three different opening positions of Left, Right and Centre across our Transition bed range, although, not all opening positions are offered across all beds at this moment in time.
We are able to provide a replacement front barrier at an extra cost if you wish to change the opening position of your bed at a later date.

My daughter is adapting well to the floor bed. She's only 14 months and hated her cot. The ability to move around more has meant she can self settle a bit better for sleep.
We brought our daughter a house bed from a different company almost two years ago, I’m sad we didn’t find your website earlier!
Our son’s new bed is of much better quality, very easy to put together and so beautiful crafted.
We’ve also all loved the little extras of the booklet to get our son ready before his bed arrived and the tracker to show how many big sleeps he had.
You guys really went above and beyond with these simple ideas but the kids have loved them!! Thank you so much, I would 100% recommend your website.
Love the bed, finish is really nice and smooth, perfect for little ones. My little boy was very excited when it came.
As someone else has mentioned, the bed is quite creaky.. does make it more difficult to sneak away when little one is asleep.
I would highly recommend Roomix! The whole team are incredibly helpful, we had an issue with putting the bed together and the team went above and beyond to get this issue resolved for us! Our son absolutely loves his bed and it looks amazing in his room! We are over the moon and will be recommending Roomix to everyone we know!
Roomix bed has been great! It is sturdy and the mattress is so comfortable. Also love the customisations provided and ease of assembly! Delivery has been a nightmare due to delays etc but has been totally worth the wait!
Thank you team Roomix.
Beautiful bed, lovely quality & although the roof part & drawers took a long time to assemble, it was relatively straight forward overall & most importantly, our toddler absolutely loves it & has took to it like a duck to water!
So the bed frame is nice. We couldn't put the roof by following the instructions, i had to make my own instructions to put it up. Nice paint, seems sturdy but whenever my baby leans on the frame it makes noise (that typical noise of wood moving/cracking). Not completely in love with it but it's fine.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I have just reached out to you via email regarding this so we can get this resolved for you 🙌
As a result of this feedback, we have raised this with our designer and workshop who have reviewed this thoroughly. They have identified that if the front mattress barrier support rail was not tightened very thoroughly, there could be some movement in this rail when in use and therefore cause a slight noise. We have since ensured that all of our mattress rails are both glued and screwed in the workshop - however, we recommend customers who assembled this component themselves to tighten their mattress rails when creaking occurs.

Bought for bought 1 year old who we co sleep with.
Love it. Solid and safe
I like the bed it is just what we needed to safely transition my into his own room. However the fixings of the side panels are a little flimsy and they creak if you lean on them or move around too much in the bed. Also we bought the legs to make it into an off the floor double bed but realised you can’t take off the two side panels and leave the end panels because the lats are screwed into them. For the price it would have been nice if it has the design functionality to be able to use it to transition beyond my son needing the sides up.
lovely looking bed, we ordered single and doble with drawers. the double bed dowers have wrong instructions so had to be be put apart and rebuild which is a shame considering the price of the full set. both beds even though are fully tightened are very squeaky. I'm co sleeping so this is affecting my sleep comfort hence 4 stars and again I expected better considering the price of it. Visually the bed is beautiful.
Beautiful bed, my son loves it, and so do I. We ordered one single with drawers and a double with drawers. Both super creaky that’s why minutes the star. Is there anyway of improving this / fixing this problem? It’s all tighten up so no way our assembly impacted this
The measurements advertised don’t include the full size of the whole frame and the bed doesn’t fit the room (which we were careful to measure before ordering). Unfortunately because of the returns policy I cannot exchange it for a smaller size.

Bed looks good however once assembled really quite creaky. Does the job, child seems happy on it and easy to settle them down in it. Just wish it wasn’t so creaky.

Advertised delivery date on the website was incorrect and we have not received any communication until we queried this when delivery didn’t arrive. Luckily, after couple of emails this issue was swiftly sorted by the customer service team and we received bed with slight delay.
Bed looks nice and sturdy. Bit creaky though? Not sure if that’s expected and will stop after some use?
Also, we ordered natural bed and after unpacking we realised we received white one! It was too late to make a complaint or send it back, so we stuck with it. It’s still nice, but we would preferred to get what we ordered.
Leaving only 3 stars due to the above issues.
This is generally a nice bed, but the add-on drawers are a nightmare and there is a translation or language error in step 1 of putting the drawers together. If you follow these instructions, you WILL end up mounting the carcass incorrectly and have to un-do it later on. Shame as the bed itself and the legs are well made, thought out, and easy to construct, but the drawers feel like a somewhat decently made piece of Chinese factory add on.
I have assembled a lot of flat pack furniture and this was by far the most confusing item I've had to assemble. The instructions referred to numbered pieced but it wasn't clear which piece was which. It was only through trial and error that I worked it out.
Also the video on the website showed a different order of assembly to the printed manual.
Please improve your instruction manual and make a video which shows the same order of assembly!
What Started as a Disappointing Experience Ended on a Much Better Note
Our experience with Roomix got off to a very disappointing start. The delivery of our bed was delayed, communication was poor, and we struggled to get clear, consistent information about our order. Part of the bed arrived without any indication of when the remaining parts would be delivered, and initially there were no instructions included. It was also very difficult to speak to anyone directly, which made the whole situation even more frustrating.
This was particularly upsetting because we had been trying to make moving our daughter into her “big girl” room a fun and exciting experience, and the uncertainty took away from that.
Following my concerns, one of the owners personally contacted me to discuss what had happened. I really appreciated the call, the time they took to listen, and the genuine effort they made to resolve the situation. That level of customer care was excellent and made a real difference.
Now that everything has arrived, I have to say the product itself is fantastic. Our daughter absolutely loves her new bed and transitioned into it with no issues at all. The bed was easier to assemble than expected, the instructions were clear, and it feels sturdy and well made. Time will tell on its long-term durability, but so far we couldn’t be happier with the product.
Overall, Roomix has an excellent product, but in my experience their communication and order updates need significant improvement. If they can bring their customer service up to the same standard as the quality of their beds, they would have a truly outstanding business.

Good bed for my toddler and for us to nip into if she needs a cuddle. I have walked or bashed into it in the darkness and hope the wood is strong enough to withstand the whacks otherwise good product.
My son, 2 years old, and I were co sleeping. A lot of people told me that is going to be hard to get him to sleep in his own bed. From the first night that we used the Roomix floor bed he was excited, calling it his big bed, and slept on his own since then. I am really pleased.
I was really struggling to find a floor bed until I found Roomix. The bed is excellent quality and was really easy to put together. My toddler loves her new bed.
It does take a long time to ship, but they’re really good at sending emails so you know where you’re at in the process.
We are so happy with our purchase. Our 9 month old already loves his new bed. We never had regular crib, I didn’t like the idea of so many purchases and opted for this bed which would grow with him. We also got a small double bed in which both my husband and I have slept with our son several times.
The only issue we had was the difficulty in putting the bed together. The bed itself isn’t hard to fix but it was never numbered so we had to figure out and match the pieces to the guidelines.
Overall an excellent purchase and would recommend any parents to ditch the regular crib and purchase this lovely bed once.
Love the look of the bed and it feels solid. The reason for the mid range review is that it is extremely creaky! I have checked all screws are tight, I have waxed everything I can. This has improved the noise but I would definitely not be able to lie with my daughter while she goes to sleep and then get up to leave, the noise would wake her up.
Appears to be nicely made though would have been easier to assemble if the parts were numbered to aid identification. All in all a nice product and the contrast between natural wood and painted sections really improved the look.
My little one likes it.
But since the delivery was outsourced to a third party, they could not help to move the parts to the baby room. Was difficult to move it up stairs due to sizes and weight with the packaging.
Fantastic customer service. Faster delivery than expected. However I bought the bed for cosleeping with my 11mo and it is so unbelievably creaky that she wakes if I move even a tiny bit! I've ended up on a mattress next to the bed for now, hopefully it will settle too.
The wood is lovely, well finished and easy to put together. I would love if you sold some kind of bed rail bumpers (not the ones that cover the gaps between slats, just that wrap around the very top rails to protect little heads.
I ordered the Roomix Floor Bed in February and, unfortunately, the first bed arrived damaged in transit. While Roomix did eventually replace it, the process took until the beginning of June before I received a correct, undamaged replacement.
The biggest downside was the customer service experience. Communication throughout the replacement process was poor, and I regularly had to chase for updates. It often felt like I was the one driving things forward, including pushing for the replacement to be prioritised.
That said, the bed itself is nice. The rounded edges were the main reason I chose Roomix over other floor bed brands, and I'm happy with how it looks. Assembly was also incredibly straightforward and took very little time.
One concern is that the wood is quite creaky, particularly when moving around on the bed. I'm hoping this settles down with use, but it's noticeable at the moment.
I also have some doubts about one of the advertised features. The FAQs state that the entire side panel can be removed when your child is ready, but looking at the construction, I can't currently see how this would work as the slats appear to be attached to the side panel. Perhaps it will become clearer when the time comes.
Overall, the finished product looks good and was easy to assemble, but the lengthy replacement process and lack of proactive communication significantly affected my experience.
