Designed to make the cot to toddler bed transition safe, smooth and stress-free, the Roomix Transition Toddler Bed supports confident independent sleep from the very first night.

Inspired by Montessori principles and crafted from 100% solid sustainable pine, finished in a durable and child safe water based wax, this toddler bed is built to last with easy assembly in under 20 minutes.

Available in 5 sizes and two child-safe water-based wax finishes, it can be customised with a switchable left/right or centre safety barrier options, raised legs, soft close under-bed drawers and matching bedside table options. 100% Solid, FSC certified Scandinavian Pine, finished in a durable water based wax

The bed base is delivered part assembled. All four side panels are supplied fully assembled; dowelled and glued in the workshop to ensure both ease of assembly and the strongest durability possible. We use 'Easy Lock' fixings on the bed base, which ensures that your base clicks together quickly and securely with one turn of an allen key, in 20 minutes.

Our 70 x 140cm size is built to UK BSI (British Standards Institute) BS8509 standards for Toddler beds of up to Length 150cm, incorporating all safety requirements for strength, stability and anti-entrapment on gap spacing. All other sizes are built to BS EN 716 as the standard for 'junior beds' which exceed L150cm.

Mattress Depth recommendations

To ensure a minimum of 20cm internal barrier height when your child is sleeping, we recommend a maximum mattress height of 22cm on your mattress choice. Our own mattress options vary from H15cm to H22cm - we encourage you to review our mattress section for all of the available options

FAQ

Can I upgrade this Floor Bed to a standard height as my child grows?

Yes. The Roomix Floor Bed is designed to evolve. You can purchase our add-on legs to raise the frame 22cm off the floor. This height is perfect for transitioning to a "big kid" bed and allows you to fit our under-bed storage drawers.

Can I remove the front barrier as my child grows out of needing it?

Yes, you can replace the front barrier panel with our Transition Day Bed Conversion Kit.
This allows you to remove the front barrier panel and switch it over for this conversion kit which opens up the front of your bed, day-bed style

Is there ventilation under the mattress to prevent mould?

Yes. Even though it is a floor bed, the design includes a 3cm air gap created by the side rails. This ensures air circulates freely under the slats, preventing moisture buildup and keeping the mattress fresh.

What is the weight limit? Can I co-sleep on the Floor Bed?

Absolutely. Our Floor Beds are reinforced for co-sleeping. The frame supports up to 200kg, making it safe for a parent to snuggle in for bedtime stories or comforting.

Can I change the opening side of the Bed barrier?

We offer two styles of barrier. Our 'switchable' barrier, where the opening is set into the front barrier corner, can be both left and right hand facing. We do not pre-drill the mattress slat holes on the barrier prior to assembly, allowing you to make the choice of left or right before completing your assembly. Alternatively, our centre barrier is symmetrical so suits all spaces. If you decide to swap sides on your Left/Right hand barrier later, you will need to fill small screw holes from the original slat rail positioning.

Does it meet UK Safety Standards?

Yes. The 70x140cm model adheres to BS8509 (Toddler Bed) standards for stability and anti-entrapment. Larger sizes meet BS EN 716 standards. We use cotton strapping to ensure slat spacing is permanently fixed at the safest distance.

What mattress would you recommend?

We offer several options of mattress, from our Stompa toddler specific mattresses to our Jay-Be foam free mattress options - all are recommended for our Transition Beds, but each option is suitable for different circumstances.
